WINTER WEDDING AT THE POTAGER, MT TOMAH

SHEREE & STEVEN’S EMOTIONAL BLUE MOUNTAINS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

A PREVIEW

It’s been two days since Sheree & Steven’s winter wedding in these Mighty Blue Mountains, and honestly, I’m still processing through all of it. Words may be hard to come by, but these visuals will tell stories for another hundred years, and more.

The misty morning started with whiskey with the boys, and champagne with the girls. There wasn’t a passing worry about the inclement weather, or the mercury touching 0 degrees in the Mountains. It was full steam ahead.

The bagpiper caught everyone by surprise at the outdoor ceremony, under the ‘wedding tree’ at Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens. Steve’s dad is a true Scot, and it’s in my heritage too. When that proud and humble instrument started singing it was hard to hold back the tears. And then Sheree walked down the aisle. Here’s where the true waterworks began. There wasn’t a dry eye in attendance.

We were running low on light, and still had a ten minute drive up the mountain to Mt Banks. But it was perfect timing, everything considered. The sun was setting behind the parting clouds, throwing out a heavy combination of colours. Combine this with laden mist in the valley beneath us and the natural spark between the newly hitched, it made for some truly epic wedding portraits.

The night wrapped with emotional speeches, heavy laughter, and a joyful amount of booze (as every decent wedding should!) Special mention to the muso, Blake Tailor and his partner Reannine, for throwing out some truly special tracks (here’s lookin’ at you, Pony, Ginuwine).

Sheree & Steven, your wedding was literally perfect, and a dream to be a part of.
Here’s to you.
